20 Apr 2011: Wipro appoints CTO Vijaykumar as V-P for emerging mkts
Wipro appointed I Vijaykumar, chief technology officer of Wipro's IT business since 2007, as vice-president (Emerging Market Solutions). Dr Anurag Srivastava is taking on the role of Vijaykumar as the chief technology officer (CTO) & senior vice-president for the IT business.
Srivastava, who will now report to Kurien, is currently the head of Wipro Energy and Sustainability Services business, which includes sustainability advisory, connected infrastructure and energy-managed services to deliver greenhouse gas reduction and energy cost optimisation for Wipro clients. The company is on a restructuring drive to improve its top line and widen the gap between its nearest competitor Cognizant.

Saviance Technologies announced the appointment of Kaushik Bellani as the CEO of Saviance Technologies. Kaushik will be based out of the India Headquarters in Gurgaon, and will be responsible for expanding Saviance's operations globally.
19 Apr 2011: Polaris Software bags two prestigious Asian Banker awards at the Asian Banker Summit 2011
Financial technology company Polaris Software has bagged two prestigious Technology Implementation Awards at the fifth Asian Banker Awards ceremony at Hong Kong.
Chennai-based Polaris had won the "Best Core Banking Implementation for small-sized banks" award for implementation at Saigon Hanoi Bank for managing risks during the project implementation stage. Besides, it also won the Best Banking Application Award for developing a multi-country single-instance application.
The Asian Banker Technology Award is a prestigious honour that recognises path breaking IT projects that are executed within an acceptable timeframe.
18 Apr 2011: MindTree investors chase Ashok Soota for a share in his Happiest Minds Technologies
Several investors, who backed veteran IT leader Ashok Soota in his earlier venture, Mind-Tree, are now in talks with him for investment in Happiest Minds Technologies , the firm he launched recently.
Potential investors include Sudhir Sethi, who was head of Walden India International when it invested in Mindtree and is now founder and chairman of early stage venture capital firm, IDG Ventures India, Walden India, Sequoia and one or two other venture capital firms.
